The tiny Chapelle de la Dourque stands in an isolated spot next to a minor road about 10 Kms north of St Chinian. The chapel has a very unusual roof made with stone flags (called lauzes in France). Inside it is beautifully maintained. There are many more pictures of the tiny, secret chapels of Hérault on my website Secret Chapels of Hérault.
The small spa town of Avène is next to the River Orb. The town is protected by the meander of the river. Today, Mostyn and I walked to the top of a nearby hill but were in cloud so were unable to see, let alone photograph, the extensive view! Perhaps another day.
